Daniel Pike

Daniel Pike is a founding partner at Halloran Pike Solicitors and leads the firm’s commercial litigation practice.

He acts for businesses and SMEs across Yorkshire in commercial disputes, advising on contract claims, shareholder conflicts, debt recovery, and professional negligence. His clients are typically businesses that have a dispute on their hands and need a clear picture of what their position is, what it will cost to resolve it, and which route to resolution makes most sense.

Daniel represents both claimants and defendants in commercial proceedings. He appears at the Business and Property Court in Leeds and in the County Court, and advises on matters where the right outcome is a negotiated settlement rather than a final hearing. The decision between litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and the timing of that decision, is often the most consequential advice a commercial litigant receives.

He is a member of the Law Society.

The businesses Daniel advises most frequently are SMEs without in-house legal counsel. For those businesses, the challenge is knowing when a dispute warrants legal costs and when it does not. His starting point on every new matter is an honest assessment of that question: what is the realistic range of outcomes, what does it cost to get there, and is that a rational use of the business’s resources?
